PLIMA, narrative short
14’ (2023)

ZORA (9) learns of her great grandmother’s mortality when the family’s inheritance and land rights come into question.

This stifling domestic environment is integral to Zora’s inner world and directly juxtaposes the boundlessness and harmony she and Luce find by the sea. While death is never openly discussed among the family members, Zora’s new understanding of her great grandmother’s mortality ultimately fuels her decision to flee to the natural world together.

PLIMA won Best Short Film at the 34th Trieste Film Festival in Trieste, Italy, and is nominated for a Moving Images — Open Borders (MIOB) Shorts Award.
